Procedure

Proceed as follows:

  1. On the Service Availability Maintenance tab, choose the Add New Service Availability Definition (+ pushbutton).

    To select an existing service availability definition, you select the corresponding table row.

  2. Make the following entries to select the systems for which you want to define a service availability.

    1. Enter a Title.

    2. Select Validity period.

    3. Select a Time Zone.

  3. Select the systems that you want to include in the service availability definition:

    1. Choose Entities.

    2. Choose Add Entity ( + pushbutton).

      1. In the Ext. System ID field, use the selection parameters to select the system.

      2. Choose Go.

      3. Select the systems. You can select multiple systems.

      4. Choose Select.

  4. Choose Availability.

    1. Enter the desired SLA Threshold (%). The SLA threshold is the promised availability of a managed object, measured in percentage.

    2. Select the Reporting Period, for example Monthly.

    3. Select the availability Pattern:

      • Daily

        To specify the availability, enter a Start Time, a Duration in hours and/ or a Duration in minutes.

      • Weekly

        Select the checkbox for the calendar day and define the availability by selecting a Start Time and entering a Duration in hours and/ or Duration in minutes.

        If you want to add another weekly pattern, choose the + pushbutton and proceed proceed as described above.

  5. Choose Contractual Maintenance to specify the maintenance time for your systems.

    1. In the Relevant for SLA field, choose Yes, if the service availability definition is relevant for your service level agreement.

    2. Choose a Contractual Maintenance Pattern:

      • None

        If you only have a one-time maintenance, proceed with Contractual Maintenance Dates.

      • Monthly

        Choose this to maintain regular monthly maintenance times.

        • Choose the first radiobutton to define a day of the month where you want the systems to be maintained regularly, for example 29 to have a system maintenance on the 29th of every month.

        • Choose the second radiobutton to define the monthly occurrence of the maintenance. For example you can always choose the first Saturday of every month.

        Select a Start Time, Duration in Hours , or Duration in Minutes.

      • Weekly

        Choose this to maintain regular weekly maintenance times.

    3. Choose Contractual Maintenance Dates if you only have a one-time maintenance

      Define a date for the contractually defined and fixed maintenance dates.

      Select a Date, Start Time, Duration in Hours , or Duration in Minutes.

  6. Save your entries.
