Function documentationUsing the Work Center

Basically, a work center represents an application in SAP Solution Manager. It provides central access to role-specific functions. You have access to relevant messages, alerts, reports, and documents for which your role is authorized. The number of work centers assigned to you depends on your tasks.

Prerequisites

  • You have set up the work centers in the configuration (transaction SPRO) of SAP Solution Manager, under Start of the navigation path SAP Solution Manager Next navigation step Technical Settings Next navigation step Work Center End of the navigation path.

  • System administration has made the required role assignments for you. For more information, see the security guide, under Start of the navigation path http://service.sap.com/instguidesInformation published on SAP site Next navigation step SAP Components Next navigation step SAP Solution Manager 7.2 Next navigation step Operations End of the navigation path.

Features

You access the work centers from the SAP Solution Manager launchpad (transaction SM_WORKCENTER).

In the SAP NetWeaver Business Client (NWBC) you have the same navigation options as in the Web browser but the system arranges the UI elements differently. For more information, see SAP Library for SAP NetWeaver Business Client on SAP Help Portal at Start of the navigation path http://help.sap.com/netweaverInformation published on SAP site Next navigation step SAP NetWeaver Platform Next navigation step <current version> Next navigation step Application Help Next navigation step Function-Oriented View Next navigation step <language> Next navigation step UI Technologies in SAP NetWeaver Next navigation step User Interface Clients End of the navigation path.

All work centers are structured in the same way, to ease orientation and navigation. Certain functions can be used in the lists. For more information, see:
