The Business Process Monitoring work area shows all metrics collected for your monitored processes, for different steps or interfaces. This includes metrics with no open alert groups (green status). You can switch between business processes. The work area displays the processes with active business process monitoring, with the highest rating in the alert categories, and the number of alerts.

Prerequisites

  • You have created at least one solution with business processes.

  • You have configured monitoring for a business process.

Procedure

Displaying Details of Business Processes
  1. To select a solution context, choose Scope Selection in the top right corner. Select the solution branch, system role, site, and solution context for the business process that you want to display.

  2. Select a business process in the list.

    The system displays details of the business process, in the Details of Business Process table. It displays the following data:

    • The business process steps or interfaces of the selected business process.

    • The rating for each business process step or interface, by alert category.

    • The number of alerts.

  3. Select a business process step/interface in the list.

    the system displays details of the related step/interface in the Details of Monitoring Objects and Key Figures table. It displays the following data:

    • The monitoring objects linked to the selected business process step/interface.

    • The key figures for each monitoring object.

    • The last metric rating, worst open alert, and the trends of various metrics.

  4. Launch the process graphic for a selected business process, by choosing Launch Process Graphic, embedded or in a new window:

    • The process graphic view is a graphical representation of the business process steps and any technical interfaces. Dotted lines represent synchronous interfaces, and solid lines represent asynchronous interfaces. The graphic also displays the name of the logical component to which the solution is assigned.

    • You can switch between views of the process graphic. For example, you can view all processes that belong to a solution.

    • You can also display alerts that belong to specific Business Process Operations areas. For example, You can restrict the display of alerts at process steps or interfaces to those that belong to Throughput & Backlog.

    • You can navigate to the Solution Directory.

    • In the graphic, the red, green or yellow LED lights represent alerts. When you choose one, you go to the Alert Inbox.

      Note Note

      In the graphic, the highest alert that has appeared for the step is displayed as the overall status of the process step.

    • If you choose Show Details, the system displays all business process scenarios, business processes, business process steps and interfaces, monitoring objects and key figures in the solution, in a tree structure.

    • If you choose a business process step, you go to the Alert inbox that displays its alerts.

    • If you choose one of the system information icons displayed at the top of the process graphic, you go to the corresponding system monitoring application screen.

    • You can switch to the interface channel monitor graphic view. When you choose All Process Interfaces from the View dropdown, the system displays all business interfaces of the solution, and technical interfaces, with their monitoring objects.
