Background documentationInstalling and Configuring CBTA

Installing and configuring component-based test automation (CBTA) comprises the following activities:

Activities

  1. Define and configure the systems under test (SUT), and create users for them. For more information, see Configuring CBTA in SAP Solution Manager.

  2. To allow CBTA access to the SUTs, define RFC or HTTP destinations and specify the user credentials. For more information, see Creating Test Profiles and Logon Data for SUTs.

  3. Download the CBTA client and install it locally. For more information, see Installing and Configuring the CBTA Client.

  4. To ensure the installation and configuration of the CBTA client are correct, perform self-checks. For more information, see Performing Self-Checks.

  5. Optional: Specify the execution report format. By default, an HTML report is generated. You can generate the execution report in Microsoft Word 2010 or PDF format. For more information, see Defining the Report Format of the CBTA Execution.

  6. Optional: Enhance CBTA with custom functions, using the CBTA Runtime Library manager. For more information, see Enhancing CBTA With Custom Code.
