Procedure documentationChanging a System Role of a Test Plan

In the SAP Solution Manager test suite, you can change the system role of a test plan without having to edit the system data container and change the RFC destinations manually.

The system role is used to address the correct system under test for the executions of the test cases based on the SAP Solution Manager context (solution, branch, and logical component group). The system role is the only attribute of the context that can be changed after the test plan has been created. Changing it after the start of test execution will have no effect on existing results. The re-execution of automatic tests will only take into account the change for evaluation of the RFC destination.

Prerequisites

You have authorization as a test organizer.

The release status value of the test plan allows changes.

Procedure

  1. In the SAP Solution Manager launchpad, choose Test Plan Management.

  2. Select a test plan.

  3. Under Start of the navigation path General Data Next navigation step System Role ID End of the navigation path, select a system role.

  4. Save and close the window.

Result

The system role is assigned to the test plan. The RFC destination is derived automatically when test cases are executed.

Note that changing the system role after you started the test execution will only affect the next execution of test.
