Defining Alternative Diagnostics Agents

If a problem arises, you can define an alternative diagnostics agent, to collect the data for a monitored object, for example, a host, a technical system, a database). The problem arises if the diagnostics agent which is assigned to this monitored object is not available when an alert is generated.

Procedure

Start the Launchpad, and in the group SAP Solution Manager Administration, choose the tile Agents - Administration.
Go to the Configuration tab.
Sort the diagnostics agents by role.
If several diagnostics agents can monitor a technical object, they are shown:
- Diagnostics agents which are assigned to the technical object, are indicated by a switched-on light-bulb.
- Diagnostics agents which are assigned to the technical object, are indicated by a switched-on light-bulb.
Choose Change.
Select the diagnostics agent to which you want to assign the technical object for which it is to collect data.
Choose Assign.
The diagnostics agent is automatically reconfigured.
