You can use the business process analytics to monitor various key figures and analyze them graphically. These key figures give an overall picture of business process operations in all systems that are required to run your core business processes. This enables you to identify and locate current operational problems, as well as optimize your business processes.

The KPI catalog contains the complete list of the key figures that you have available in the business process analytics. The catalog is integrated into the app for the ad hoc business process analytics, meaning that you can select individual KPIs for further analysis from the KPI catalog directly.

Also, in the configuration of business process analytics in solution administration, you can use the KPI catalog to select multiple KPIs for business process analytics.

Prerequisites

The KPIs in business process analytics always refer to particular technical systems. You define which technical systems you can select in the app for the ad hoc business process analytics in the BPO reporting infrastructure.

To add managed systems for the analytics, proceed as follows:

  1. In your SAP Solution Manager system, start the Business Process Operations work center in the group of the same name in the launchpad.

    Note Note

    Note that the Business Process Operations - Work Center tile is not displayed in the launchpad by default; so you first need to add this tile to the launchpad.

  2. In the navigation bar of the work center, call the Edit BPO Reporting Infrastructure link in the Related Links area.

  3. Switch to the Data Source Management tab and choose the connector BPM_HANA_SUITE.

  4. The Connector Instance Details contain a list of the managed systems. Switch to Change Mode and add the desired managed system to the list.

  5. Save your changes.

Activities

To call the KPI catalog from the app for the business process analytics and select a specific KPI for the analytics, proceed as follows:

  1. In your SAP Solution Manager system, start the app for business process analytics in the launchpad. The Business Process Analytics tile is in the Business Process Operations area.

  2. Choose the New Analysis pushbutton.

  3. From the Target System dropdown list box, choose the system and the client from which the key figures are to be determined.

  4. From the Key Figure dropdown list box, choose the Select SAP Standard Key Figure entry.

  5. The KPIs from the KPI catalog for the business process analytics are displayed. In the overview view, choose the radio button for the desired KPI; the detail view contains all necessary information for the respective KPI on the various tabs.

    Then choose Confirm Selection to transfer the chosen key figure to the app.

  6. You are on the BP Analytics screen again. You have specified the target system and key figure; now choose the Execute pushbutton to perform the analysis.
