In Change Request Management, you can create a project task from a request for change, or change document. To do so, these business transactions must be connected to the solution documentation that is assigned to the project.
If you have an open request for change, IT requirement, or change document, you can also create a new one in change request management. You can also start with transaction CRM_UI
or SM_CRM
.
You can only create a task for projects that can still be changed, not for projects that are, for example, completed, archived, or canceled.
Start Change Request Management from the SAP Solution Manager launchpad (transaction SM_WORKCENTER
), under
In the navigation area of Change Request Management, choose
.Fill all mandatory fields. You can enter the SAP Solution Manager data under Details Assignment
. Select an object that is connected to a project, and select Create PPM Task
under Actions
.
If a project has only a branch and a landscape, but no change cycle assigned, the request for change only needs the same landscape, to match, but if a change cycle is assigned to the project, the request for change needs the same change cycle, to match:
If no change cycle is assigned to the request for change:
There is a message stating that no task can be created.
If a change cycle is assigned to the request for change, but no project has a matching change cycle or landscape:
There is a message stating that no task can be created.
If a change cycle is assigned to the request for change, and exactly one project has a matching change cycle or landscape:
The system determines the matching project, and creates a task in this project. This task is connected to the request for change from where it was created.
If a change cycle is assigned to the request for change or change document, and more than one project has a matching change cycle or landscape:
A popup window opens, that lists all the matching projects. You can choose one of them. The system creates a task in the chosen project and connects the request for change to this task.
Save the data of the new task. The new task is created, along with the connected request for change.
The new task appears under Details Assignment
of the request for change; the information about the request for change is displayed on the Transaction
tab of the task. The status of the new task depends on the status mapping in the setup, for example, Released
.
