Background documentationObjects

The Objects view displays the results of completed data collection jobs, that is, all custom objects and their attributes that were collected.

  • Objects

The Objects tab page displays objects created in the connected systems and collected by the data collectors.

You use the Display Mode screen areas to switch between an object-centric and a system-centric view.

    • The system-centric display mode displays an custom code object as it appears in each system, that is, you can look at each object from your productive, development and quality system individually.

    • The object-centric display mode displays the custom code object that exists in different systems as one object.

You use the Filter Objects by screen area to filter objects according to specific criteria, for example, creation date and object name. You can use an asterisk (*) in place of unknown text in all fields, for example, searching for object type Custom* returns custom code objects, custom code items, and custom code duplicates.

You use the Search Objects with Attributes screen area to search for objects with specific attributes and values. You choose the Expand Tray or Collapse Tray button to display or hide the screen areas.

The table screen area displays the object attributes. You assign user-defined actions to the Action menu and execute the action on selected objects

  • Systems

The Systems tab page displays all systems that are active in custom code management.

  • Owners

In the Owners tab you can create an owner for a custom code object and enter the attributes defined in the Library Definition view.

    Note Note

If you define owners, assign them to a selected object in the Objects tab.

    End of the note.
  • Contracts

In the Contracts tab you can create contracts and enter the attributes defined in the Library Definition view.

    Note Note

If you define contracts, assign them to a selected object in the Objects tab.

    End of the note.

Note Note

The Changed on and Changed at columns refer to when the object was changed or added to the library; they do not refer to when the object was first created or changed.

End of the note.

The Details of Object screen area displays the attributes already created in the library definition.

You assign user-defined actions to the Action menu and execute the action on selected objects.

Prerequisites

  • A library definition is configured as the active library during the technical implementation.

  • SAP Solution Manager configuration is successfully completed

  • You have set up and scheduled the data collectors as part of the custom code management scenario of SAP Solution Manager configuration (SOLMAN_SETUP).
