IT Performance Reporting (in SAP Solution Manager System Monitoring
work center) displays the development of the most important monitoring data in your monitored systems, centrally. You can identify potential problems early, and get an overview of the load and performance of your systems. SAP provides a set of pre-defined reports.
You can also put your own reports into IT Performance Reporting, to specify which data is to be displayed, in which format. This is explained in the following procedure.
To create your own reports, you need the applications:
To enter your own queries:
Create query
Put query in a web template
Put the new web template in IT Performance Reporting
Step 1: Create Query
Start the BEx Query Designer (Release 3.5), and logon to your SAP Solution Manager system.
Create a new query. Choose the following MultiCube, depending on the data source:
For a CCMS monitoring data query, choose
(technical name 0CCMPDATA).For an ABAP statistics query, choose
(technical name 0CCMSMTPH)Drag the following dimensions into the areas named, in the query, depending on the details of your query:
CCMS monitoring data queries:
Dimension | Technical name | Area |
---|---|---|
| 0CALMONTH |
|
| 0CALWEEK |
|
| 0CALDAY |
|
| 0TIME |
|
| 0SMD_GRDA |
|
| 0SMD_GRTI |
|
| 0SMD_LSID |
|
ABAP statistics queries
Dimension | Technical Name | Area |
| 0CALMONTH |
|
| 0CALWEEK |
|
| 0CALDAY |
|
| 0CCMMATIRA |
|
| 0CCMAPSRV |
|
| 0CCMPTYP |
|
| 0SMD_LSID |
|
Restrict the dimension System ID
to the systems which you can display in the SAP Solution Manager. Choose Restrictions
in the context menu, and drag the entry Systems with SolMan Authorization
from the Variables
tab, into the selection at the right-hand side.
Drag the statistics which you want to display in the query, into the Columns
area.
For queries which are to display CCMS monitoring data, you must specify the values to be displayed, in the attribute instances. CCMS is a semantic-free data model; the meaning of the statistics is only specified by the attribute instances:
Choose the types of values which you want to display, e.g. the mean value of the Calculated Statistics
, from the statistics. This does not yet specify which MTE classes you want to display.
To specify the MTE class, choose the entry Filter
or Columns
area (e.g. if you want to display several MTE classes in a query).
All MTE classes whose development through time are saved in BI, are in this list. If you need further information about an MTE class, search for the class name in the SAP documentation.
Save your query, enter a description and the technical name. The technical name should start with Z, to put the query in the customer namespace.
Step 2: Put query in a web template
Start the BEx Web Application Designer (Release 3.5), and logon to your SAP Solution Manager system.
There are few restrictions on the creation of your web templates. Here, for example, is a simple outline query. Drag the following Standard Items
into the template, from the Web Items
:
Chart
Generic navigation block
To connect the query to the web template:
Enter the query in the (General
) Attributes of your Chart
. Leave the name of the Data Provider
unchanged (DATAPROVIDER_1).
Choose this data provider, in the attributes (Web Item
) of your Generic Navigation Block
in Data Provider Influenced
.
Save your web template; the technical name should also begin with Z, to put the template in the customer namespace.
Step 3: Put the new web template in IT Performance Reporting
You must put the new web template in the list of IT performance reports to be displayed. Start the transaction RSA1 in the BI system associated with the SAP Solution Manager (normally the Solution Manager system itself, although often in another client).
Choose the entry Info Provider
in the navigation bar in the Modeling
area.
Expand the path Report
for the entry, in the context menu.
Choose Maintain Master Data
, and select in the screen, without entering further data.
A drop-down list is displayed. This drop-down list box appears when you call the IT performance reports.
Create two new entries in this list, in this sequence:
Report | Long description |
---|---|
<letter>_00_TITLE | <Title in drop down-list> |
<letter>_01_<web template> | <Text in drop down-list> |
Explanation:
<letter> is any letter; SAP entries in this list start with a number.
<web template> is the technical name of the web template you created. This web template is called when the user selects this entry in the drop-down list.
The texts in the Long Description
determine the entries in the drop-down list.
Save your changes, and go back to the initial screen of transaction RSA1. Choose Activate Master Data
, and ignore the message that the master data is already active.
You have performed all steps required that your web template is in the list of available reports; next time you call the IT performance reports.
