Prerequisites

  • You have added your own documentation types to those delivered (in Project Administration in the Project Standards tab (see Status, Keywords and Documentation Types).

  • To optionally generate Web links (URLs) for documents, you have made the necessary settings in the Customizing for the SAP Solution Manager under Start of the navigation path SAP Solution Manager Next navigation step Technical Settings Next navigation step Document Management End of the navigation path.

Procedure

The individual functions of the table are available to you:

  • In a roadmap with project link

  • In Business Blueprint

  • In the Configuration

  • in the Solution Directory

  • In Solution Package management

  • On the Templates tab page in project management

Note Note

Documents in the Project Documentation tab are not put in the template in a template project. If you want to deliver documents as part of a template, assign them in the General Documentation tab (see General Documentation tab).

Create new documents

Document repository

You assign a document type to all documents you create. A document template is called, depending on the document type. You can only use document types that either have a document template or a file name extension supported by the SAP Solution Manager. If a document type has no template or file name extension, the text editor is started.

Add documents as links to existing documents in the SAP Solution Manager.

Changes are made system-wide and across projects and solutions, to the original document.

Copy documents

You can change the copy independently of the original document.

Upload file

Delete documents

For documents created as a link to another document, both the row in the table and the link are deleted. If the document to be deleted is the only instance of this document, you can delete it physically.

Check in/check out a document, to change it

When you check a document out, you lock it for changes by other users. To unlock the document, check it in. You can only check documents in which you have previously checked out.

Edit Document Attributes

You can change the header data of the document and set, for example, the processing status or the priority.

Display the change history of a document

Filter by document status

Display the versions of a document

So that, for example, management can access SAP Solution Manager documents without access to an SAP Solution Manager system.

Assign additional attributes to documents

Insert test objects

Put document in the Business Blueprint document

Flag the document as Blueprint-Relevant in the document attributes.

The order of the documents determines their order in the Business Blueprint document.
