Procedure documentationCheck Connectivity between Managed Systems

 

You choose already generated RFC connections between managed systems, and specify how and when they are to be checked.

The system lists the seleted RFC connections for each destination type.

Procedure

  1. Choose one of the following destination types:

    • ABAP destinations

    • TCP/IP destinations

  2. Choose Add Destination, and choose one of the following destinations:

    System destination

    Known destination in the system landscape

    You choose an ABAP system via the product system, and choose other managed ABAP systems to which there are already valid RFC destinations in the transaction SM59, as destinations.

    You chloose a product system, and choose managed ABAP systems to which there are already valid RFC connections in the transaction Solution Manager System Landscape, as destinations.

  3. Proceed as follows, depending on the destination:

    System destination

    1. Select a product system from the input help.

      You can put product systems in your value list, or search for a product system by search criteria.

    2. To display all possible destinations, choose Load RFC Connection.

    3. Choose the RFC destination for which you want to check the connections.

      The system checks the system type and performs a logon check.

    4. Save your entries.

    1. Choose a product system and a destination.

    2. Confirm your entries.

    The RFC destination appears in the list. For ABAP destinations, you get further attributes, such as logon type, target system and client, and use, for each RFC connection.

  4. Specify how you want to check the connections. This can be:

    • Daily or hourly check

      The connection is checked by a background job.

    • Manual check

      You check the connections manually in the results view.

  5. Choose Save, to copy your settings for the next connection check, into the results view.

Choose Reset, to retrieve your last saved settings. To stop connectivity monitoring for a selected RFC destination, select the RFC destination in the list, and choose Remove Destination.

Result

You have made the settings required to check selected RFC connections. The results view contains the current connection status. For more information, see: Connectivity Monitoring.
