You use queries to specify the scenarios and systems that you want to analyze. You need queries for the following areas:

In these areas, you can create new queries and categorize, change, rename, and delete existing queries.

Prerequisites

You have selected the object type for which you want to edit a query. To do this, select one of the following tab pages in the Statistics and Trends, Potential Savings, or Archiving Information area:

  • DVM Scenarios

    All technical scenarios of type DVM

  • Technical Scenarios

    All technical scenarios

  • Technical Systems

    Overview of all connected technical systems

Procedure

Defining New Queries
  1. Choose Define New Query.

  2. The system starts a guided procedure that helps you select specific scenarios or systems for the selected object types and define further criteria for the query.

  3. When you have finished defining the new query, the system displays it as a new tab page or as a new link in the link matrix, according to the layout settings you have made under Personalize. For more information, see Adjusting the Layout.

Changing Queries
  1. Choose Change Query.

  2. Enter the new scenario name and confirm your entry.

Categorizing Queries
  1. Under Personalize, choose the Personalize View tab page.

  2. In the Active Queries group box, choose Add Category.

  3. Enter the name for the new category and confirm your entry.

    The category appears in the table.

  4. To assign a query to a category, select the query in the table and choose Move Up to move it into the category.

  5. If you want to use the query again later without a category assignment, you can move the query into the Without Category Assignment table area by choosing Move Down.

  6. If you want to delete a category, select the category in the table and choose Remove Category.

Renaming Queries
  1. Under Personalize, choose the Personalize View tab page.

  2. In the table, in the Active Queries group box, select the query that you want to rename.

  3. Choose Rename Query.

  4. Enter the new name and confirm your entry.

Deleting Queries
  1. Under Personalize, choose the Personalize View tab page.

  2. If you want to delete a single query, select the query in the table, in the Active Queries group box, and choose Remove.

    If you want to delete all queries, choose Remove All.

  3. In the Available Queries group box, choose Delete Query and confirm your entry.

Adjusting the Layout
  1. Under Personalize, choose the Layout tab page.

  2. Select the corresponding radio button to display the queries either as tab pages or in a link matrix.

  3. If you choose the tab page view, you can also display the corresponding category name on the tab pages by selecting the Enhance Query Text with Category Info checkbox.
