Procedure documentationPerforming Automatic and Manual Activities

To configure a scenario of SAP Solution Manager, you perform the automatic and manual activities of the steps belonging to the scenario. For automatic activities, you select the activities you want to perform and the system executes the configuration. For manual activities, you perform the configuration yourself according to the documentation provided.

An activity can be optional or mandatory, which affects the status calculation. For more information, see Calculation of Configuration Status.

Note Note

When you install an upgrade or import a Service Package, the system automatically determines which parts of the installation have to be reconfigured. If an activity needs to be performed again, the Updates Needed column is marked.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • From the navigation panel, you have selected a scenario. From the roadmap, you have selected a step.

  • You are in edit mode.

Procedure

Automatic Execution
  1. In the Execution Status column, check the status of an activity to determine whether it is to be performed:

In the Status column, the system sets the status automatically. For more information, see Calculation of Configuration Status.

    Note Note

To perform an automatic activity manually, for example, if the automatic configuration was performed with errors, see the Manual Execution section.

    End of the note.
Manual Execution
  1. To perform an activity manually, display the help text from the Documentation column.
