Procedure documentation Locking Collections  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function enables you to exclude collections that are not relevant to translation from the translation process. Locked collections are not included in worklist runs, and do not appear in translators’ worklists. This means they are not translated.

You can set a global lock for a collection. In this case, it is not translated into any languages. You assign these collections to the lock graph. However, you can also lock a collection for specific target languages only, while allowing it to be translated into other target languages. In this case, you assign the collection to a translation graph that does NOT include the target language for which you want to lock the collection.

Prerequisites

·        The required translation graphs have been created in the translation system, as well as a lock graph (that is, a graph for which no translation directions have been defined.)

·        Your translator profile includes the authorization COGA with the value 01, and the authorization COSE with the value 01.

Procedure

...

       1.      Call transaction LXE_MASTER.

       2.      On the Languages tab page, choose Collections.

       3.      If you want to set a global lock for a collection, use the Select Graph dialog box that now appears to select the lock graph.

       4.      If you only want to prevent a collection from being translated into specific target languages, use the Select Graph dialog box to select the translation graph for which the appropriate translation directions have not been defined.

The Collections dialog box is displayed.

       5.      Choose Add Collections.

The Collections dialog box is displayed.

       6.      Select the collection to be locked.

       7.      Choose Continue.

       8.      Save.

Note

If you want to enter a note explaining why you locked a collection, choose Collections on the Languages tab page. Choose the lock graph, and enter your comment in the Comments field next to the name of the collection.

Result

A global lock is set for the selected collections. Alternatively, the selected collections are only released for the translation directions defined in the translation graph, which means they are locked (indirectly) for the target languages that have not been defined in the translation graph. Lines that remain to be edited in globally locked collections are no longer included in translators’ worklists. They are not included in worklist runs. This means they are not displayed in the statistics either.
