Procedure documentationPerforming Self-Checks

The CBTA self-checks allow you, as the administrator of the SAP Solution Manager system, to verify the installation and configuration of the CBTA client. Self-checks are also useful for SAP support to identify installation and configuration issues quickly. SAP support may ask you to perform self-checks and send them the results.

To ensure that your system is correctly configured for the UI technology supporting the applications you want to test, you can display the front-end recorder type defining the corresponding self-check, to determine the UI Technology (SAP GUI, CRM Web Client, Web Dynpro ABAP, for example) of the self-check.

Prerequisites

Procedure

  1. In the Test Management work center, choose Start of the navigation path Administration Next navigation step CBTA Settings Next navigation step Perform Self-Checks End of the navigation path.

Depending on the SAP Logon configuration, the system asks you to accept requests from the SAP Solution Manager system to your CBTA client. Confirm the message.

You go to the Test Management Self-Checks screen. The system connects to the CBTA client, to determine the self-checks available. This dynamic retrieval supports future enhancements and the addition of self-checks via service packs and patches.

  2. Choose the Front-End Component Self-Checks tab page.

If there are no configuration issue, the first self-check, CBTA COM Object Registration, is green, and the version of the client (COM) component) is displayed in the Help column.

  3. If no self-check is available, either the CBTA client is not installed or there is a configuration issue. Do the following:

  4. Perform the self-checks.

    1. Select the tab page.

    2. To retrieve the SUT self-checks, on the System Data Container Checks tab page, specify the system data container and the target component, and choose Get Self-Checks.

    3. Select the available self-checks.

    4. Choose Start Execution.

    5. To resolve issues, follow the instructions in the Help column.

    6. Repeat steps 1 to 4 until all self-checks are performed.

    7. To export, on request of SAP support, the result of the self-checks, choose Export All.

  5. To identify the UI technology of a self-check, on the Front-End Component Self-Checks and System Data Container Checks tab page, see the Provider column.
