Function documentationExtended Business Process Repository Search

With the extended search function, you can search the Business Process Repository (BPR) for implementation content, and copy it into your project or solution. The Business Process Repository is a structured collection of preconfigured business scenario and business process structure elements, provided by SAP, which you can reuse.

You have created a project or solution. (See Create/Change Project and Create Solution from a Work Center.)

Recommendation Recommendation

You have configured the project system landscape, the product versions are known, and the product versions available.

End of the recommendation.

The extended search in BPR finds and copies scenarios, processes and process steps, with the following functions:

  • Search by terms

  • Search by product version

  • Search for components in existing solutions

  • Format results by:

    • Restricting hit list

    • List view (alphabetic)

    • Hierarchical view (context-spcific)

Specify the search criteria in the Search Terms field, and/or the Search Criteria section.

Search by terms

You can specify part or all of one or more words which must be in the object name, in the Search Terms field.

Separate the words with spaces. Put formulations containing spaces in quotation marks. The results list only contains objects whic satisfy all the search terms.

Choose Search, to start the search.

Restrict results by technical attributes

You can restrict the results by technical attributes, under Search Criteria.

The system has the following logical behavior, if there are several search statements:

  • Or for search terms with the same attribute

  • And for search terms with different attributes

Choose Search, to start the search.

Restrict results by product versions

When this flag is set, the system only finds objects for the available product versions. These objects have a green symbol.

If this flag is not set, the system shows all objects, including those which need additional product versions. These objects have a yellow symbol, to indicate the need to update product versions.

Restrict number of results

You can restrict the number of hits, in the Maximum Number of Results field.

Choose results list view

The List View displays the objects found, in alphabetical order.

The Hierarchical View shows all occurrences of the objects in the organizational structure, and the solution/application hierarchy.

  • The Product Versions Required column shows which product versions the object requires. These product versions should be put in the project system landscape by logical components.

  • The Details column shows any documents or graphics for the object.

  • The Hierarchical View shows the objects in their organizational and application context.

  • The Path column in the List View shows the context by object type:
