Assignment of Mobile Components to Users 

Use

When assigning mobile components to users you have various options: The option you choose to use depends on your administration concept. Before you assign components, you must decide which components are to be assigned using roles and which using organization structures.

●     The assignment using a hierarchy is particularly relevant to mobile components that are not role-dependent but, for example, branch-dependent.

●     The assignment using roles is useful for applications if, for example, on a company-wide scale, all users of a role are to use the same mobile applications.

In both cases, you use the device configurations for the assignment (see Assigning Mobile Components Using Device Configuration). In exceptional cases, you can make the assignment using roles with the role profile as well (see Assigning Mobile Components Using a Role Profile).

You can also assign mobile components to a mobile device directly without including these components in a device configuration (see Assigning Mobile Components to a Device). Use this procedure for a quick setup of the mobile device in the test phase or in exceptional circumstances only.
