Procedure documentation Maintaining Translation Graphs  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Prerequisites

·        You have set up the target languages in your translation system.

·        Your translator profile includes the authorization GRAP with the value 02.

Procedure

...

       1.      Call transaction LXE_MASTER.

       2.      On the Languages tab page, choose Graphs.

       3.      If you want to create a new graph, choose Create New Graph.

       4.      Enter a name for the new translation graph.

Note

To ensure that you and your colleagues can easily recognize the graph again, you are advised to enter a meaningful name such as the title of the project for which the translation graph is intended.

       5.      If you want to change a graph that has already been defined, choose the name of the graph.

       6.      If you want to set up a translation graph that is virtually identical to an existing translation graph, choose Copy. In the dialog box that is now displayed, choose the graph you want to copy.

Adapt this graph as required.

       7.      If you need to define a larger number of translation directions, choose the Original Lang. pushbutton. In the dialog box that is now displayed, choose an original language.

       8.      Choose Execute.

A dialog box is displayed listing all of the target languages defined in the system.

       9.      Select the target languages to be defined for the graph, and choose Execute.

   10.      In the Graphs dialog box, select the target languages that are translated from the same source language, and choose Source Language.

In the dialog box that is now displayed, choose the required source language.

   11.      Repeat the procedure for every other source language.

   12.      The Status column for the new translation direction(s) contains activation status A (active). This means that the translation direction has been defined and released for the translation graph.

   13.      If you want to change this presetting, select the language directions you want to change and choose Status.

The Activation Status dialog box is displayed.

   14.      To define the translation direction without releasing it, choose activation status I (inactive). If you want to set up automatic distribution for this translation direction, choose activation status D (active with distribution).

The activation status in the Graphs dialog box is changed accordingly.

   15.      In the Level column of the Graphs dialog box, you can see the number of levels in which worklists are generated for a language. Level 1, for example, means that translation takes place directly from the original language. Level 2, on the other hand, indicates that the source text for a translation is itself a translation.

   16.      After you have finished entering your settings, choose Check to perform a plausibility check for your entries (to see whether you have entered circular definitions, for instance.)

   17.      Save your settings.

   18.      The Select All, Deselect All, and Invert icons in the Graphs dialog box enable you to select all of the defined language directions, deselect all of the selected language directions, or replace all of the currently selected language directions with all of the language directions that are not selected.

   19.      The Overview icon enables you to display the graph’s definition as follows:

¡        Original language -> sequence of target languages

¡        Target language <- source language: original language

¡        Status, target language, source language, original language

¡        Original language, source language, target language

The Previous Variant and Next Variant pushbuttons enable you to navigate from one view to another.

 Result

The translation directions are now defined for each translation project in the system. They can be used to generate worklists.
