Overview: Integration and Display Types for
Content from BI
You can integrate content from BI into the portal using various tools. Depending on the type of integration, you create objects with various display types in the portal.
You have a variety of options for displaying BI objects in the portal. The various display types are summarized in the following table.

Web-based BI application that is displayed as an iView in the portal (BEx Web Analyzer for example). BEx Web applications are Web templates executed on the Web that are created using BEx Web Application Designer. |

A single document generated in BI (such as documentation on metadata) that is displayed as an iView in the portal. The document or the link can either be made available in Knowledge Management by the BI Document Repository Manager or the BI Metadata Repository Manager, or can be a precalculated BEx Web application in Knowledge Management. |

Multiple documents or links from a folder in Knowledge Management are displayed with a KM Navigation iView. The documents or links in Knowledge Management can originate from the BI system and other sources. The layout of a KM Navigation iView can be adapted using layout sets. |

Web-enabled planning application of BW-BPS that is displayed as an iView in the portal. |
|
Web application (dashboard for example) with data from the BI system. Is created using SAP BusinessObjects Xcelsius Enterprise. In the portal, visualizations are displayed as iViews. |

Various applications and tools from the BI system, such as Data Warehousing Workbench, BEx Query Designer, BEx Web Application Designer or BEx Analyzer. |
Using BEx Broadcaster or BEx broadcasting wizard, you can distribute content from BI to the portal. More information: Information Broadcasting.

With the BEx tools BEx Query Designer, BEx Web Application Designer and BEx Report Designer, you can publish the objects thus generated (queries, Web applications and enterprise reports) as iViews in the Portal Content Directory (PCD). |

BEx Broadcaster provides more extensive options for precalculation and distribution than the BEx Broadcasting Wizard.
