In the Portal Catalog, administrators can mark objects as favorites to provide quick access to objects that are edited frequently.

The Favorites tab appears next to the Browse and Search tabs in the Portal Catalog, and displays the objects added by the administrator. Objects in the Favorites tab are displayed in alphabetical order.

As with objects in the Browse tab, the Favorites tab only displays objects that are relevant to the area in which the Portal Catalog is displayed. For example, if you add systems to your favorites, you cannot see them when viewing favorites in the Portal Content Studio.

The following areas do not display theFavorites tab in Portal Catalog:

  • Multiple property replacement

  • Unification

  • Runtime personalization

In addition, in the Permissions Editor, you cannot add security zones to the Favorites tab, and in the Federated Portal interface you can add producers but you cannot view their content.

Procedure

To add an object to the Favorites tab, from the object's context menu, choose Add to Favorites.

You can perform the following actions in the Favorites tab:

  • Open the object for editing. From the context menu, choose Open and then choose the relevant editor.

  • Administer services. From the context menu of a service, choose Administrate.

  • Preview objects (for pages and iViews only). From the context menu, choose Preview.

  • Locate objects in the Portal Catalog. From the context menu, choose Locate in Portal Catalog.

  • Remove objects from favorites. From the context menu, choose Remove from Favorites.

Removing an object from the Favorites tab does not delete the object from the Portal Catalog. The object remains in the Portal Catalog in its original location.
