Procedure documentation Developer Studio Settings  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

So that you can deploy the Web Dynpro application from within the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio to an SAP Web Application Server’s Java engine, and to make sure that the application uses the corresponding engine, go to the development environment - the SAP NetWeaver Developer Studio - and make the settings for the usage of a local or a remote Web Dynpro runtime environment. To select the SAP Web Application Server’s Java engine that is addressed by the design time, proceed as follows:

       1.      You have opened the Developer Studio and the Web Dynpro perspective (Window Open Perspective Web Dynpro).

       2.      Choose Window  Preferences SAP J2EE Engine.

Local Java Server

...

       1.      Choose SAP J2EE Engine is installed on local host and press Browse to navigate to the installation directory.

       2.      In the dialog box, choose the instance of the local SAP J2EE Engine. Now the preferences dialog displays the system name, the J2EE instance number and the SCS instance, as well as the path to the local engine. Press Apply.

       3.      To save your settings press OK again.

Remote Java Server

...

       1.      Choose SAP J2EE engine is installed on remote host and specify the Message server host as well as the Message server port.

       2.      Choose Apply, then choose OK.
