Procedure documentation Mass Execution of Automatic Test Cases  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Function

You can execute test cases of type CATT and eCATT automatically at the same time, in a test plan or in a test package (Mass Execution), instead of running each automatic test case individually, to save time. The automatic test cases run in the sequence in which they are listed in the test plan or test package.

Prerequisites

You have created a test plan or a test package. You are in the Status Analysis of a test plan or test package.

Procedure

Starting mass processing in dialog

...

       1.      Position the cursor on a node

All automatic test cases below the node are executed.

       2.      Choose the Automatic Test pushbutton or the Goto Execute Test Case Automatically menu.

       3.      You can choose test cases, which you want to run automatically, in the following dialog box. You can use the filter functions to select test cases by status or attributes, for example only eCATTs with errors.

The system displays a dialog box to run CATT or eCATT test cases. If your test plan or test package contains both CATTs and eCATTs, the dialog box for eCATT, in which you can start both CATTs and eCATTs, is displayed.

       4.      Enter the required data. You can also change the system data and the test system for eCATTs.

       5.      Choose Execute.

If you have set the Display Log flag, the CATT and eCATT logs are displayed, with a procedure number.

Note

When the automatic test cases run, a test plan log procedure number is created. The log is accessed later with this procedure number. The procedure number is also displayed when you call the status of an automatic test case in the status analysis.

Starting mass processing in the background

You can run eCATT test configurations and CATT test cases without UI control, in the background.

...

       1.      Choose a test plan in the test plan management (transaction STWB_2), and choose Test Packages or Status Analysis.

       2.      Choose Goto Automatic Test Run in Background (report RSTWB_BATCH_EXECUTE).

       3.      Enter the information as required. You can assign a job name, to be able to find the background job in the job log.

       4.      Confirm your changes.

For more information, see Background Processing

Access automatic test case execution logs

You have created logs, which you can also display later, by running automatic test cases.

...

       1.      Choose the Goto Logs CATT or eCATT menu.

       2.      Enter the procedure number.

       3.      Choose Execute.
