Displaying the Folder Content with the
Broadcasting Layout Profile
Use
You use the Broadcasting layout profile to display precalculated objects or online links that you have published in a KM folder using the BEx Broadcaster.
This layout profile is tailored to the needs of users who work with business intelligence content in the portal. By default, it is preset in the KM navigation iViews BEx Portfolio and My Portfolio in the Business Explorer portal role.
You can apply the layout profile to the KM folder that you want to use for your business intelligence content.
The technical name of the layout profile is Broadcasting: ConsumerBroadcasting.
Features
The layout profile allows you access to standard KM functions and makes the following BI-specific information available:
The BI-specific
symbol 
for queries, query views, Web templates and
reports and the BI-specific symbol 
for
workbooks show you whether the object is a workbook or a Web object. The
Precalculation Date entry shows the date on which the document was
precalculated. In addition, the system shows the Importance that
the sender specified for the document in the broadcast
setting. The 
New and 
Read On symbols help you to quickly and easily
differentiate between new and read documents.
Furthermore, where available, the system displays a short description of the content of the document. The sender creates this description in the broadcast setting.

With precalculated documents for queries, query views, Web templates and reports, as well as being able to call the precalculated document with the historic data, you can call the online link to the query or Web application with the current data.
Under More, chose the Online Link menu entry. The system opens a new browser window and displays the current data for the corresponding Web object in the BEx Web Analyzer. You can navigate in this data and broadcast it again, as necessary. For more information, see BEx Web Analyzer.
Activities
To use the Broadcasting layout profile to set the display of a folder, choose Settings → Display in the Details dialog of the folder. Select the Broadcasting layout profile and save your entries.
