Defining Invisible Navigation Nodes
There are portal objects that do not need to be displayed in the standard navigation iViews (top-level navigation and detailed navigation), but do need to be accessible during certain types of navigation. Content that is not relevant to certain roles, but is part of a larger entity, can be made invisible in the navigation iViews.
You can make portal objects invisible in the standard navigation context by setting the Invisible in Navigation Areas property. The property belongs to the Navigation property category and is defined at the page level. For more information, see Page Editing.
The values of the property are:
Yes: The object is not seen in the navigation iViews.
No: The object is seen in the navigation iViews.
When running a wizard, you need to see each page of the wizard to create your object. However, there is no need for anyone to access any individual page in a wizard when navigating from the navigation panel. The individual pages can be set to invisible so that they are not seen separately in the navigation iViews. They are, however, accessible when running the wizard to create an object.
