Creating a Folder 
Folders are used to store and organize portal objects in the Portal Catalog. By assigning access permissions to folders, folders become a convenient means of allocating tasks and content to portal administrators in your organization.
Right-click a folder under which you want to create a new subfolder, and then choose from the dropdown menu.
The Folder Wizard opens.
Enter the following properties in the appropriate fields:

Folder Name |
Enter the name of the new folder. |
Folder ID |
Enter a unique identifier for the new folder. The folder ID may contain alphanumeric characters (a-z; A-Z; 0-9), underscores (_), dashes (-), tilde (~) and parentheses. Do not include other special characters or spaces. The ID must not exceed 100 characters. |
Folder ID Prefix |
Enter a prefix for the folder name. This option is useful if you want all your folders to follow a specific naming convention, thus making them easier to locate. |
Master Language |
Choose the master language for metadata defined in the new folder. The master language ins the original language in which the properties of the object are generated and maintained. When creating content objects, it is important to decide on a master language that ins neutral for the users in your environment, and to consider using that language consistently as your initial maintenance language. Typically, when creating content packages, for example assigning iViews to pages, you should use objects defined with the same master language. This property cannot be changed once the wizard creates the object. |

Enter a brief description of the folder. |
Click Finish.
A new folder is created in the Portal Catalog.
The new folder inherits the permissions of its parent folder.
