Adjusting and Assigning Portal Themes for SAP
NetWeaver BI
The following steps outline how you can change the appearance of a Web application by adjusting portal themes:
...
1. Execute the BEx Web application in the Web browser.
2. Decide which aspect of the appearance you want to change.
3. Open the BEx Web application as a Web template in the BEx Web Application Designer.
4. Identify which Web item controls the aspect of appearance that you want to change.
5. Using the table in Use of Portal Themes in SAP NetWeaver BI, identify the elements in the portal theme.
6. Start the iView System Administration → Portal Display → Portal Theme.
7. Using the theme editor, change the formats for the elements.
Before you can use a modified portal theme, you must first assign it to the user. Once the portal theme has been assigned, all BEx Web applications for this user are displayed with this changed portal theme.
Using portal personalization, a user can select a portal theme from the available portal themes if personalization is activated in the portal and the user has the required authorization.
Portal themes are assigned to multiple users using portal desktops. A portal desktop can be assigned to a user or user group. Assignment is made using the iView System Administration → Portal Display → Desktops and Display Rules. Different user groups can have different portal themes as their default portal theme.
As administrator, you can specify the default portal theme in the default portal desktop:
...
1. Start the iView System Administration → Portal Display → Desktops and Display Rules.
2. Open the default portal desktop pcd:portal_content/every_user/general/defaultDesktop under Portal Content → Portal Users in the editor.
3. Select a portal theme from the portal content.
4. In the context menu, choose Add Portal Theme to Portal Desktop.
5. Set this own portal theme as your default.
The portal content for all users that use the default portal desktop is displayed using this own portal theme.
