Creating a Web Service System 

Use

You can define Web services to be used in the modeling process from within Visual Composer. A Web service that you define in Visual Composer automatically appears in the SAP NetWeaver portal.

Web services that you define will be accessible only to users logging on to Visual Composer using your user name and password.

Users performing this task should be assigned the portal System Administrator role.

 

To define the path to the Portal Catalog folder where the new systems are created, go to the Tools → Options  → Compiler tab, and in the Portal system folder field, enter the required location.

Procedure

       1.      Choose Tools → Define Web Service System. The System Definition (Web Service) dialog box is displayed.

       2.      In the New system name field, enter a unique name for the Web service system.

       3.      In the New system alias field, enter the alias that will be used in the portal to identify the Web service system.

       4.      In the Web service URL field, enter the URL address of the Web service.

       5.      If the Web service requires user authentication, select the URL requires User and Password checkbox, and then enter the user and password in the appropriate fields.

       6.      Click Create.
