Configuring Your Registration
Password
Applicable to: remote role assignment, remote delta links, WSRP application sharing
For increased security, you can set a registration password that a consumer needs to enter upon registration with your producer portal (see Registering Your Consumer Portal).
The procedure described here applies to producers that provide content to SAP NetWeaver or non-SAP consumers.

The registration password is a global setting for all your consumers; you cannot set a different password for each consumer.
Step 1: Setting a Registration Password in the AutoGenProducer1_0 Service
This step is mandatory if from your producer portal you are servicing non-SAP consumers only or both SAP NetWeaver and non-SAP consumers. If your producer portal is servicing SAP NetWeaver consumers only, the procedure is highly recommended, but is mandatory if you have lowered the default assigned permissions or safety level of the security zone for the following portal service: com.sap.portal.ivs.wsrpservice/services/AutoGenProducer1_0
...
1. In the producer portal, navigate to System Administration → System Configuration → Service Configuration.
2. In the Portal Catalog, navigate to the com.sap.portal.ivs.wsrpservice application.
3. Open the AutoGenProducer1_0 service.
4. Enter a password in the REGISTRATION_PASSWORD property.
5. Save and close the service.
6. Open the com.sap.portal.ivs.wsrpservice application, and restart the com.sap.portal.ivs.wsrpservice|AutoGenProducer1_0 service.
7. Close the editor.
Step 2: Configuring Security Zone Permissions in the AutoGenProducer1_0 Service
If your producer portal is servicing non-SAP consumers only or both SAP NetWeaver and non-SAP consumers, then you must assign the Everyone group to the security zone of the following portal service:
Security Zones/sap.com/NetWeaver.Portal/high_safety/com.sap.portal.ivs.wsrpservice/services/AutoGenProducer1_0

You assign permissions to security zones using the Permission Editor in the same way that you assign permissions to content and folders in the Portal Catalog. For more information, see Security Zones and Setting Permissions in the Permission Editor.
If your producer portal is servicing SAP NetWeaver consumers only, you can skip this step.
Step 3: Setting Up Users for Non-SAP Consumer
If your producer portal is servicing non-SAP consumers, then you also have to create a unique portal user with logon credentials for each non-SAP consumer.
For instructions, see Creating Users for Non-SAP Consumers.
