To configure TMS on Windows, proceed as follows:
- To make your Windows system known in the transport profile, make the following settings:
- Log on to the transport domain controller and call transaction STMS. The TMS initial screen appears.
- Choose . The system overview is displayed. Choose a system by double-clicking one.
- Choose . Click on the Transport Tool tab and choose .
- Enter the following information on the Transport Tool:

The parameter ABAPNTFMODE determines the mode for opening the files used by tp and all tools that are called by tp.
- Save the configuration by choosing and return to the system overview.
- Choose .
- Include the following entries in the system-specific instance profiles for the SAP systems on Windows:
- Set the parameter abap/NTfmode=b.
- This parameter sets the default mode for opening a file for the kernel.
- Set the parameter DIR_TRANS to the UNIX transport directory.
Example DIR_TRANS=\\trans01\trans4
- Set the parameter DIR_EPS_ROOT to a subdirectory of the transport directory for transaction SPAM.

- Stop the relevant SAP system on Windows and then start it again.
- You must convert the profiles into binary format for all systems running on Windows that are supposed to use the central transport directory.
To adjust the Windows profile to the binary format, log on to the relevant SAP system and call transaction RZ10. Choose . This saves the profiles in binary format.
