Transporting BEx Objects
The following procedures are relevant for queries, query elements, workbooks, and Web application objects.
In addition to these BEx objects, objects from the planning, broadcasting settings and Data Access Services also use the BI transport connection using BEx transport requests. Unlike the BEx objects listed above, however, these objects have the following distinctive feature: even if the standard transport system is switched on, they are written to the BEx transport request or requests.
When transporting these objects for the first time, proceed as described in Transporting BI Objects. For further transports, you do not need to write these objects individually to a request. You can transport the objects either using a standard BEx transport request or using a BEx transport request for each package.
You can store a single transport request for BEx objects that have already been transported. All changes are written to this request – independently of the user.

1.
You are in the
Transport Connection functional area in the Data Warehousing Workbench.
Choose
BEx with the quick info Create
Transport Requests for BEx. The BEx Transport Requests dialog box
appears.
2. To create a transport request for BEx Objects, choose Assign/Delete. The New Transport Request for BEx dialog box appears.
3.
Assign the required
transport request or create a new one. Then choose
Continue.

A new request has to be created immediately after you release a BEx transport request. For this reason, either an administrator or project coordinator must create the requests centrally.
4.
To transport your
BEx transport request, choose
CTO Transport Organizer: Overview. The
Transport Organizer: Requests screen appears.
5.
Select the task or
request that you want to release. Choose
Release Directly

First, release the individual tasks and then the complete request.
In certain circumstances, one request is not enough for all BEx objects. In this case, you can make one BEx request per package.

This is the case if:
● you want to transport BEx objects from one development system to different productive systems.
● you want to divide BEx objects into several areas in a large project.

If no specific request is saved for a package, the object is written to the standard BEx transport request.
