Drag&Relate
Drag&Relate capabilities of the SAPNetWeaver portal maximize the usefulness of portal navigation between SAP systems, including system ERP and BI systems.

Drag&Relate functionality is not supported by BI versions later than 3.1.
Selecting an iView in the portal navigation panel returns the content of that iView and displays it in the content area of the portal. However, dragging a link from a displayed iView onto a Drag&Relate‑enabled iView in the navigation panel enables the return of information based on the relationship between the business objects of the two iViews. This ability to filter content by different, but related, business object increases the relevance of the retrieved data for the user.

In order to enable a drag target, the Drag&Relate property of the iView must be set to true in the Property Editor.
During runtime, Drag&Relate allows the portal user to navigate specifically to the information required by the user’s roles in the organization. However, it is the content creator and/or administrator who uses, and is more closely aware of Drag&Relate features.
· Drag&Relate between iViews based on ERP transactions
· Drag&Relate between iViews based on BI reports (not later than BI version 3.1)
· Dragging onto Web Target iViews (See Navigation with Web Target iViews)

Drag&Relate is supported between objects of the same type, either ERP transactions or BI reports, only on foreign key relations; therefore, a foreign key relation must exist between the business objects of the drag source and target iViews.
· Drag&Relate between iViews based on ERP transactions and iViews based on BI reports

For Drag&Relate to work between iViews based on ERP transactions and iViews based on BI reports:
■ The business objects must be of the same type, for example:
Controlling Area (BUS0004) in ERP and Controlling Area (T0CO_AREA)
Cost Center (BUS0012) in ERP and Cost Center (T0COCENTER) in BI
■ A manual relation must be created, using the Relationship Editor, between the two objects, on their primary keys.
· Ability to add Drag&Relate targets to a source iView, making them visible in the Detailed Navigation (See Drag&Relate Targets.)
Drag&Relate capabilities depend on preparations made in the back-end systems. For more information, see Drag&Relate with SAP Systems.
