Procedure documentation Assign Status  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

You assign a status to document the result of your test case. You can make processing notes or specify retests required, in the Test Workbench, as well as assigning the status. If you have a message system, you can also create a message which describes the test with errors in more detail, and is forwarded to a processor in a workflow.

Prerequisites

You are in Perform Test in the Test Workbench and have already performed a test case. You want to document the result.

If you want to create messages, a message system has been setup, as described in the Message overview prerequisites.

Procedure

...

       1.      Click on the icon under Status.

You go to the Status maintenance dialog screen.

       2.      Enter a status in the Status tab.

       3.      Enter the data required for Test Resources, Short Text and Retest.

       4.      Go to the Messages tab and create a message, if necessary:

¡        To assign an existing message to the test case, choose Insert Row and enter the message number. Copy the message number from the message system and insert it in the Messages tab.

¡        To delete the assignment of a message to the test case, select the message and choose Delete Rows. The message still exists in the message system.

To compare the message number entered with the message system data, choose Check Entries.

The message is created in your message system. Your test administrator can get an overview of the number and contents of the messages.

Note

Screen shots

·         To append screenshots to a test case, save the screenshots in a document and append this document to the test case message, in the Attachments tab.

·         Do not upload documents with screenshots as test notes. Graphics or screens are lost because test notes are converted into SAPScript format when they are uploaded.

       5.      To save further information about the test case, choose Test Note.

       6.      To send a message to the person responsible for the test case, choose Notifications.

       7.      Save your entries.

       8.      Go Back.

·        can be edited with the transaction DNOTIF (edit individual messages) and DNOTIFWL (edit message work list), if a SAP NetWeaver system is connected as the message system. If a CRM system is connected as the message system, the messages can be processed with CRM functionality.
