Object documentationTest Catalog  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Definition

A Test catalog is a set of test cases in a hypertext structure. This structure can be augmented by links to supplementary documents.

Use

Test cases are managed in test catalogs. Test cases are manual or automatic. Manual test cases are usually used for acceptance tests and automatic test cases are usually used for function tests.

Note

To be able to use the test catalog to generate test plans, you must put it in the SAP Application hierarchy. This puts the test catalog in the SAP environment in which you can create test plans, which may be in several test catalogs. This procedure allows you to create a lot of small test catalogs, which are easier to manage than one large test catalog.

Structure

A test catalog comprises a structure and attributes.

Test cases are arranged hierarchically in the test catalog structure. This determines, e.g. the test case performance sequence. You can determine the structure of the catalog yourself according to your requirements.

Test catalog attributes are for test catalog management.
