In Change Request Management, you should always create transport requests using the means provided by Change Request Management only – in other words, using a change document or task list.
However, if you have already created transport requests without a change document or task list, and specified a CTS project that was created for the task list as attribute SAP_CTS_PROJECT, such transport requests are not known to Change Request Management, although they technically belong to the task list (because of the CTS project).
How to identify these transport requests, register them in the task list, and thus make them known to Change Request Management, is described below.
Recommendation
We recommend to use the WebClient UI to register transport requests. For more information, see Assign Transport Requests.
At least Support Package 17 of SAP Solution Manager 7.0 is installed. If you need to register transport requests for earlier support packages, see SAP Note 1150426.
There is at least one transport request for which attribute SAP_CTS_PROJECT contains a CTS project that was created for a task list.
To register transport requests that were created outside Change Request Management, subsequently in a task list, choose the Register Transport Requests task in the task list overview.
The system lists the transport requests created outside Change Request Management. You are told if there are no such transport requests.
Note
You can select several transport requests and register them at the same time.
Select the transport requests which you want to register in the task list, and choose Register Transport Requests in the Task List.
The transport requests are now registered in the task list. You can now release them with a task in the task list. No change documents are created for these transport requests.
The transport requests are registered in the task list.
