Information for a technical system that is registered in SAP Solution Manager has probably been sent to, and consumed by, several applications, so you cannot just delete the information in the SAP Solution Manager Landscape Management Database (LMDB). You have to also deactivate the system's data supplier, and remove the information from the System Landscape Directory (SLD) and from other consumers.

Procedure

Deleting Technical System Information in the Landscape (Standard)

System information provided by an SLD must be removed from the SLD and LMDB, and from all consuming applications.

If you delete technical system information provided by SLD synchronization in the LMDB, it is only deleted temporarily. It will be restored after its next registration in the SLD, when any new information on the technical system in the SLD is sent to the LMDB. The result is a fragmentary system information.

The deletion sequence is important, because automatic synchronization could restore deleted data. The deleted technical system information is registered again automatically by the system's data supplier, so the data supplier must be deactivated first.

To delete technical system information from the system landscape, proceed as follows:

  1. In SAP Solution Manager, access the SAP Solution Manager: Configuration work center.

  2. Under Managed Systems Configuration, select the technical system to be deleted, and choose   Advanced Options   Decommissioning  .

  3. Follow the guided procedure. See the documentation.

Note Note

You cannot delete technical systems of type CA Introscope Manager (cluster) and CA Introscope Enterprise Manager (stand-alone). They can only be deleted under   SAP Solution Manager Configuration   Basic Configuration   Configure CA Introscope  .

End of the note.
Deleting Technical System Information Only in the LMDB (Exception)

Technical system information is usually sent from a System Landscape Directory (SLD), so deleting it in the LMDB only makes sense for information that was created manually, or migrated from transaction SMSY into the LMDB. To delete all technical system information, open the technical system for editing in transaction LMDB and choose    Advanced   Delete Technical System from LMDB  .
