In an integration scenario, different software components interact with each other to transfer messages from one system to another. The components:

  • Transform the data to required format

  • Route the messages based on runtime context

  • Choose the right protocol to transfer the message and technical connections to managed systems

PI Monitoring checks the status of components, channels, and cross system messages in an SAP NetWeaver Process Integration (PI) 7.11, SP6 or higher, domain, centrally. Centralized monitoring of SAP NetWeaver PI domain accelerates the problem solving process. This ensures availability of SAP NetWeaver PI server and data exchange between systems.

Integration

  • PI Monitoring is integrated with System Monitoring, Notification Management, IT Service Management, and local monitors. For more information on local monitors of SAP NetWeaver PI, see   http://help.sap.com   SAP NetWeaver   SAP NetWeaver PI   SAP NetWeaver Process Integration Library   Monitoring the Advanced Adapter Engine   and   http://help.sap.com   SAP NetWeaver   SAP NetWeaver PI   SAP NetWeaver Process Integration Library   Monitoring the Integration Engine

  • PI Monitoring can be customized to raise alerts for messages in error status. You can define alerting rules for message attributes, such as integrated configurations. The alerts are displayed in the Alert Inbox.

Features

  • Ensures continuous business availability

  • Reduces the problem resolution time and the number of resources involved

  • Provides a single entry point to local monitors and required SAP Solution Manager tools for a detailed analysis

  • Relieves the production system from additional burden of monitoring by collecting data, centrally
