The automatic update function performs regular updates of the SAP Note information specified by a filter in SAP Solution Manager. The SAP Notes are then up-to-date. You do not need to update them manually in the query.

The automatic update function updates all SAP Notes; manual update only updates the SAP Notes from the last month.

We recommend using the automatic update function for SAP Note information on all monitored systems.

Prerequisites

  • You have performed SAP Solution Manager Customizing; this includes creating the SAP-OSS connection. The language that is set in the SAP-OSS connection determines in which language the work list displays the SAP Notes.

  • User SOLMAN_BTC starts the background job.

Procedure

  1. Choose Settings.

    The System Recommendation Settings screen is displayed.

  2. Choose Turn On Automatic Check - Recommended.

    Fields to specify the update time are displayed.

  3. Specify the update interval, start date, and start time.

    We recommend the update interval Every Week.

  4. Choose Continue.

  5. To create a new filter definition, choose Add Technical Systems.

  6. Select a solution and a technical system and choose Add.

    The selected technical system is added to the list.

    You cannot select an application component.

  7. You can add more technical systems.

  8. Select the technical systems whose SAP Notes you want to update.

  9. Save your entries.
