Function documentation Customizing ID Type Editor  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

This function creates and edits customizing ID types. SAP provides a set of predefined customizing ID types.

Integration

The Customizing ID Type Editor is part of the Customizing ID Mapping Framework.

Prerequisites

You are authorized to use the Customizing ID Mapping Framework.

Features

With the editor, you can:

·        create

·        display

·        change

·        or delete customizing ID types.

You can also specify whether it is a structured or simple ID type.

Activities

...

       1.      Specify a technical name, a description and an Interface Repository (IFR) namespace, in the component SAP XI.

       2.      For an ID type which is based on a customizing object in an ABAP system, specify the customizing object.

Note

The ID type value sets are read from the system via the customizing object when you define ID mappings.

       3.      You specify other uses of the ID in other customizing objects. The specifiication of other uses is important because the Customizing ID Mapping Framework checks whether a customizing object is already used in the Customizing Distribution for the same system. In this case, you cannot use it in the Customizing ID Mapping Framework. Conversely, the Customizing Distribution checks whether objects are already used in the Customizing ID Mapping Framework for the same systems.

       4.      Specify the lengths of the ID fields. This is important because the integration server saves the IDs in an unstructured field.
