These reports contain information about the usage of the selected system. You can find out, for example, how systems are used — both in terms of scope and topic areas. Except for the report User, all values are taken from the ABAP statistics records, which are also displayed in the Workload Monitor.
To obtain an overview of the usage of your system, you can use the following reports in the context of interactive reports:
Applications (
)This report shows which applications run in your system. The applications are identified by their application hierarchy code, so you see which application components are used particularly intensively in your system. The report offers a lot of options, which data to display, by which criteria.
You can specify which criteria apply to the applications to be displayed. You can specify when an application component is regarded as being particularly intensively used. You can choose among the following criteria:
Most frequent execution (number of dialog steps)
Most users
Longest runtime
Longest database time
You can display the values of these four metrics. The value of only one selected metric is displayed at a time in the graphic. You can select which one, in the radio buttons in the Display in Graphic subscreen. All four metrics are displayed in the table.
The graphic always shows the most intensively-used application components. You can remove this restriction in the table displayed below it, and display all destinations, by choosing Display All Applications in Table.
Note
In the Filter subscreen, you can specify how many application components are displayed in the graphic. You can also specify the task types to which the displayed values are to refer. Dialog is the default task type.
Transactions and Reports(
)This report shows which reports and transactions are used in your system, how intensively. The navigation and display options are largely the same as for the Applications report described above; the difference is that, instead of metrics about application components, the same metrics are displayed for reports and transactions.
You can also restrict the data to be displayed, to a software component (first level of the application hierarchy), in the Filter subscreen with the Application dropdown list.
RFC Destinations(
)This report shows the use of the RFC destinations in your system. You can answer the question, which of the specified RFC destinations of the systems are used, and how intensively. The report offers a lot of options, which data to display, by which criteria.
You can specify which criteria apply to the RFC destinations to be displayed. You can specify when an RFC destination is regarded as being particularly intensively used. You can choose among the following criteria:
Most frequent calls (number of dialog steps)
Longest runtime
Largest data load
You can display the values of these three metrics. The value of only one selected metric is displayed at a time in the graphic. You can select which one, in the radio buttons in the Display in Graphic subscreen. All three metrics are displayed in the table.
The graphic always shows the most intensively-used RFC destinations. You can remove this restriction in the table displayed below it, and display all destinations, by choosing Display All Destinations in Table. All existing ABAP destinations are listed, including those which are not used in the selected period.
Note
You can specify how many RFC destinations are displayed in the graphic, in the Filter subscreen. You can also specify the task types to which the displayed values are to refer. Dialog is the default task type. You can also restrict the display by Application.
Web Service Consumers (
)This report shows which applications in your system use Web Services, and how intensively. As in the report, this report identifies the applications with their application hierarchy code.
You can determine which criteria apply for the applications to be displayed in the report. This means that you can set whether you want to display applications with the longest web service runtime or with the most frequent web service execution.
You can display the web service runtime values und the number of web service executions. The value of only one selected metric is displayed at a time in the graphic. You can select which one with the radio buttons in the Display in Graphic subscreen. In contrast, both metrics are displayed in the table.
The graphic always shows the most intensively-used applications. You can remove this restriction in the table displayed below it by choosing the Display All Applications in Table button. This table also tells you the proxy objects to which the use of web services in an application is distributed. For more information about proxy objects, see ABAP Proxy Generation.
Note
In the Filter subscreen, you can specify how many applications are displayed in the graphic.
RFC and Web Service Providers (
)This report shows how intensively applications in your system operate as providers of Web Services and as RFC servers. As in the report, this report identifies the applications with their application hierarchy code.
You can determine which criteria apply for the applications to be displayed in the report. This means that you can set whether you want to display applications with the longest runtime or with the most frequent execution.
You can display the values of runtime, the number of executions and the total data quantity transferred. The value of only one selected metric is displayed at a time in the graphic. You can select which one with the radio buttons in the Display in Graphic subscreen. In contrast, all metrics are displayed in the table.
The graphic always shows the most intensively-used applications. You can remove this restriction in the table displayed below it by choosing the Display All Applications in Table button.
Note
In the Filter subscreen, you can specify how many applications are displayed in the graphic.
Database (
)This report shows the most important metrics about the use of the system database. The metrics, classified by read and write operations, are:
Number of database accesses
Number of data records
Sum of access times
User Activity (
)The report provides information about the number and the activities of the users in the selected system. The following metrics are displayed:
The mean and maximum number of users logged on at the same time, during a selected period.
The number of users in the selected period is then classified by how intensively they use the system.
The measure of the intensity of use is the number of dialog steps which the user performs per week in the system. The following values apply:
User Category |
Number of Dialog Steps per Week |
---|---|
low activity |
less than 400 |
medium activity |
between 400 and 4800 |
high activity |
more than 4800 |
When you run the report, it shows an overview, in which one value is output for each metric for the selected period. Choose Detail View, to display the development of the metrics in the selected period.
