Change Control Management

This part of SAP Library gives you an overview of the changes and new features in SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP10 since SAP Solution Manager 7.1 SP08.

This information is provided as release notes, which are structured by Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) processes. The following table gives an overview of the functions in the Change Control Management process.

You can use the central Change and Transport System (central CTS) with SAP Solution Manager Change Control Management (Change Request Management and Quality Gate Management). Central CTS is the transport foundation; Change Request Management and QGM (Quality Gate Management) manage the change control process, and provide the user interfaces.

For each new project, you can decide whether you want to use CTS or central CTS.

Selective import of changes	New	You can define which transport requests or changes should be imported into a follow-on system, based on settings in Customizing. Import scheduling	New	The new report `/TMWFLOW/SM36_IMPORT` is available. You can use this report to schedule imports of transport requests into managed systems, using freely defined intervals.	Importing Transport Requests
Downgrade protection	Enhanced	You can select and ignore several check results at once in the Downgrade Protection assignment block in the WebClient UI. The system performs the manual downgrade check asynchronously. To display the check result, you can choose Refresh in the Downgrade Protection assignment block. Retrofit	Enhanced	Two additional retrofit scenarios are available. You can activate the manual and Business Warehouse-specific scenarios in Customizing. If you define an object type for one of these retrofit scenarios, the objects are set to `manual processing`. This means they are always retrofitted manually. To ensure consistency and security when executing the retrofit, the system performs an automatic recheck of the retrofit classification. Via new additional functions you can Place a transport in the import buffer again, if the retrofit was not successful. Customizing for Change Request Management	Changed	The Customizing structure for Change Request Management has been simplified. The subsections Basic Configuration, Standard Configuration, and Extended Configuration were removed.
