The Alert Inbox displays and processes Computing Center Management System (CCMS) alerts for your work area. When you have analyzed the cause of the alert, you can, for example, send a support message, or confirm that the alert has been handled.

You call the Alert Inbox in the System Monitoring work center. For more information, see System Monitoring Work Center.

Procedure

Display Alerts

Status query

  1. Select an analysis status radio button to display its alerts:

    • Open Alerts to analyze unconfirmed alerts

    • Current Status for the current analysis of alerts

      If you want to see postponed alerts, choose Inactive.

    By default, you see the current processing of open alerts in the System Monitoring work center.

  2. Select an alert status.

Alert overview

The system lists current alerts CCMS status, grouped by status, depending on your current query. To rate the processing priority of an alert, the system shows the highest yet reached alert value for the current status in the list.

Specify refresh period

Speciy the frequency with which all alerts are to be refreshed. The default value is every 900 seconds.

You can also choose from among list views which you have specified yourself. You can define queries and set filters to select data.

Analyze Alerts

Details

If you select an alert in the list, the Detail area contains previous status values and other context-specific detailed information about the alert.

You can additionally filter the display of previous status values, for example, to show inactive alerts, or alerts in the last 24 hours.

Display analysis method

You may be able to go to the analysis method via a hyperlink. The analysis method can give you context information for processing an alert.

Process Alerts

Confirm processing of an alert

To hide an alert permanently, e.g. after it has been processed, select the alert and choose Confirm.

You can confirm several alerts at the same time.

Create support message

You can create a support message from one or more alerts. Select an alert and choose Create Message. The system passes the relevant information automatically. Complete the message with the required entries.

When you have created the message, the alerts are no longer displayed.
