The Objects view displays the results of completed data collection jobs, that is, all custom objects and their attributes that were collected in the active library.

The objects are grouped according to the following object classes:

Object Class

Description

Custom Code Objects

Objects created in the connected systems and are collected by the data collectors in the active library definition

Custom Code Items

Subclass of custom code objects with a specific focus, for example, on function modules

Custom Code Duplicates

Copies of custom objects that are created in the connected systems and collected by the data collectors in the active library definition. Duplicates are custom objects that are created in a different development system with the same name as an object that already exists in another system

Contracts

Objects of the type Contract that are created in Custom Code Management (CCM)

Owners

Objects of the type Owner that are created in CCM

System

Systems that are active in CCM

Landscape

Solutions that are part of the active extraction

Analysis Tool

Information about the current CCM feature pack

You use the Filter Objects by screen area to filter objects according to specific criteria, for example, creation date and object name. You can use an asterisk (*) in place of unknown text in all fields, for example, searching for object type Custom* returns Custom Code Objects, Custom Code Items, and Custom Code Duplicates.

You use the Search Objects with Attributes screen area to search for objects with specific attributes and values. You choose the Expand Tray or Collapse Tray button to display or hide the screen areas.

The table displays all objects collected by the data collectors in the active library definition. You either display all the objects or use the tab pages for each object class to display only objects of the same class, for example, the Contracts tab page displays all objects of the type Contract.

Depending on your role, you also create, change, and delete attributes, for example, owners and contracts. You can only edit these objects if they are marked as Maintainable in the Maintainable column under   Library Definition   Detail View   Objects

You assign the custom objects to other objects in the form of a reference. You monitor your data and perform various activities based on this data.

Note Note

The Changed on and Changed at columns refer to when the object was changed or added to the library; they do not refer to when the object was first created or changed.

End of the note.

The Details of Object screen area displays the attributes already created in the library definition.

You assign user-defined actions to the Action menu and execute the action on selected objects.

Prerequisites

  • A library definition is configured as the active library during the technical implementation.

  • Solution Manager Configuration is successfully completed

Procedure

Switching Between Object Displays

The Search Objects with Attributes screen area contains tab pages for each object class. You can switch to an alternative list view.

Proceed as follows:

  1. In the Common Tasks menu, choose Call Configuration.

The CCLM Auto Configuration dialog box opens.

  2. On the Library Settings tab page, deselect the Enable Objects View Tabs checkbox.

  3. Choose Execute.

Managing Objects

An owner represents the person responsible for an object, for example, a developer responsible for a particular application. A contract represents an existing contract, for example, a maintenance contract. You assign owners and contracts to custom objects.

In the Objects view, you can create, edit, and delete owners and contracts.

Proceed as follows:

  1. If necessary, select an object.

  2. Choose the corresponding button.

You can choose the following buttons:

    • Create Owner opens the dialog box to create a new owner object.

    • Create Contract opens the dialog box to create a new contract object.

    • Change opens the dialog box to edit the selected object.

    • Delete deletes the selected object.

  3. In the dialog box, if necessary, enter relevant values and confirm your selection.

Editing Attributes

You can edit maintainable attributes and their values. Standard attributes are created in the library definition and cannot be edited. You define maintainable attributes in the Library Definition view, on the Attributes tab page. You can also create new attributes or delete attributes you created previously.

Proceed as follows:

  1. In the Search Objects with Attributes screen area, select an object.

  2. Choose Maintain Attributes.

The Change Attributes dialog box opens.

  3. Select the attribute you want to edit and enter a new value.

  4. Save your entries.

Adding References

You can assign an owner and a contract to custom objects as a reference.

Proceed as follows:

  1. In the Search Objects with Attributes screen area, select an object.

  2. Choose Add Reference.

The Add Reference Attribute dialog box opens.

  3. Select the object type, either owner or contract, and specify a value.

  4. Save your entries.

Executing Custom Actions

You can create and implement custom actions and assign them to the Action button.

You can execute the assigned action on selected custom code objects.

Proceed as follows:

  1. Select the objects on which you want to perform an action.

  2. Choose Action.

Note Note

You can only perform actions on custom code objects if you have the corresponding change and delete authorizations.

End of the note.
