The following functions are available when working with transport requests:

  • Create a transport request

  • Maintain detail information for a transport request

  • Release a transport request

  • Delete a transport request

  • Assign a transport request

  • Decouple a transport request

Procedure

Creating a Transport Request
  1. From the Transports tab for a project, choose   Create   Transport Request  .

    Note Note

    If your selection on the Transports tab leads to a display of transport requests for different changes, select the individual change for which you want to create the transport request.

  2. In the dialog box that displays, specify whether you want to create a Workbench Request or a Customizing Request or both.

  3. Select the source system and client you are working with.

  4. Enter the transport request description after the number (this should not be overwritten).

  5. Change the owner if necessary.

  6. Assign developers if necessary.

  7. Choose OK to create the transport request.

    In the lower screen section, the transport request is now displayed.

Maintaining a Transport Request

If you want to change the description or the owner of the transport request, choose   Maintain   Details of a Transport Request  

  • Change the description of a transport request

  • Change the owner of a transport request

Releasing a Transport Request
  1. Select a specific transport request with the status Changeable from the list and choose   Maintain   Release Transport Request  .

  2. In the dialog box that displays, select the transport requests that you want to release and choose the Release pushbutton.

  3. You can see the transported request in the Transports tab.

Deleting a Transport Request
  1. Select a specific transport request with the status Modifiable from the list and choose    Maintain   Delete Transport Request  .

  2. Confirm that you want to delete the selected transport request.

  3. You receive a message that the transport request was deleted.

You can only delete empty transport requests.
