In general, incident settings can be maintained at the following levels:
Level | Purpose |

Global | To define the default settings for all templates relevant to System Monitoring. For more information, see Step 2.4 Default Settings while configuring System Monitoring using SOLMAN_SETUP. |
Template | To define the incident management settings for alert types and managed objects in a template. It overrides the settings made at the global level (default). |
Managed object | To define incident management settings for a managed object. It overrides the settings made at the global and template level. This is done in a different step. |
Alert type | To define incident management settings for an alert type. It overrides the settings made at the global, template, and managed object level. |
This procedure maintains incident management settings in an SAP template or custom template. You can modify this setting for an alert type or template, if required.
Navigate to the SAP or custom template.
On the Template Settings tab page, activate auto-incidents.
You navigate to Incidents tab page.
On the Template Settings screen area, perform the required settings.
If you are configuring in a custom template and want to activate auto-incidents for specific work modes, perform the following:
Choose Expert Mode.
In the Work-Mode-Specific Template Settings screen area, perform the required settings.
Navigate to the SAP or custom template.
