You can set general values for the Central System Administration notification management that are valid and active for all Central System Administration sessions within all solutions of SAP Solution Manager. You can define, for example, if notifications are sent at all, to which person they are sent, and for which task frequencies you want to send out Overdue or Warning notifications.

The system sends out overdue notifications as alert e-mails when a task becomes overdue because it was not executed within the planned time frame.

The system sends out warning notifications based on the task frequency:

  • For task frequencies defined in units of hours, for example, every four hours, the system sends warning notification one hour before the status changes to Overdue.

  • For task frequencies defined in units equal to or greater than one day, for example, every two days, the system sends warning notification one day before the status changes to Overdue.

  • For the task frequency Hourly, the system does not send warning notifications.

Prerequisites

You have completed the initial setup of Central System Administration. For more information, see Central System Administration Setup.
