Data consistency management performs tasks and gets tools to check the data consistency between a source and a destination system, and if necessary to restore it. The data consistency monitoring provides the following options:

  • You can monitor the data consistency using alerts. The data consistency monitoring alerts are a subgroup of the business process monitoring alerts. These alerts were flagged as relevant for the data consistency monitoring.

  • For certain events, such as a system crash, mass updates, or changes in Customizing, you can determine data consistency tasks and tools, check their suitability, and use them. Which tools are suggested depends on the events and the SAP product and business object.

Example Example

A customer has an integrated scenario with SAP ERP and SAP CRM. In SAP ERP, a mass update of material master data is performed. The customer wants to know whether all the updates of SAP ERP have been replicated correctly in SAP CRM for this event. The data consistency management can be used here.

The data consistency management provides a list of tasks or tools for the required checks. It enables direct navigation to the corresponding transactions, check programs or guidelines with Best Practices.

End of the example.
