This dashboard shows the occurrence of alerts in your managed systems. The Alert Management (ALM) dashboard displays metrics such as the number and distribution of alerts, support messages, and the processing times of alerts. You can specify the data display period. The occurrence, distribution, and processing time of alerts tell you about the status and functioning of your managed systems.

The apps are:

  • Number of Alerts

The number of alerts for the selected period is displayed. There are the following apps:

    • Number of alerts by alert type (such as dialog response time too high)

    • Number of alerts by managed object (such as technical instance or system)

    • Number of alerts by alert type and managed object (this app is displayed by default in the alert management reporting dashboard)

  • Number of Incidents

The number of support messages for the selected period is displayed. There are the following apps:

    • Number of support messages by alert type

    • Number of support messages by managed object

    • Number of support messages by type and managed object

  • Total Alert Time

The sum of the validity periods of all alert groups for the selected period is displayed, by alert type and managed object. An alert group contains the consecutive instances of an alert type on a managed object. The validity period of an alert group starts with the first occurrence of the alert and ends with a change in the status of the associated event (e.g. from red to green). The total time is displayed in minutes.

As well as the apps, there is a report for further analysis. To call the report, choose an app with the right-hand mouse key, and choose Extended Analysis from the context menu.

In the report, you can specify the values to be displayed, in which view, in the graphic and the table below it, and filter values, in the navigation area and the context menu. This uses the standard web template functions. Depending on the number of elements to be displayed, the graphic may not be easily understandable, because no labels are displayed if the number is too large. In such cases, make more use of the table.

Note Note

You can also export the contents of the displayed table, to Microsoft Excel. Right-click on an entry in the table, in the Extended Menu, and choose   Export as...   MS Excel 2000 file  .

End of the note.

For the data displayed in this report:

  • When you call the detail report, the number of yellow and red alerts from all apps in the Alert Inbox are displayed, by alert type and managed object.

  • The filter settings in the dashboard app in which you called the analysis, applies.

Integration

The apps are displayed in the Alert Management Reporting Dashboard.

You can adjust the dashboard apps to your requirements by changing the data basis for the apps, or by displaying new apps. You can, for example, display the number of alerts or incidents for alert types or managed objects (see Configure Apps for Alert Management Reporting).
