Procedure documentationSynchronizing with WPB Manager Locate this document in the navigation structure

To link SAP Workforce Performance Builder training materials with SAP Solution Manager, you have to synchronize in two directions, as follows:

  1. Create process steps in Business Blueprint, and then synchronize them to WPB Manager.

  2. Create project content in WPB Producer, and then synchronize the objects to SAP Solution Manager.

Note Note

Content synchronization between SAP Solution Manager and WPB Manager takes place at the level of process steps and objects. Business scenarios and business processes are synchronized only in the sense that project structures are created for them in WPB Manager the first time you synchronize the corresponding business step. Also, if you rename a business scenario or business process in SAP Solution Manager, the name will be updated in WPB Manager project structure following synchronization.

End of the note.

Prerequisites

  • You have created process steps in Business Blueprint.

For more information, see Business Blueprint.

  • You have write permission for the parent object in WPB Manager to create and edit objects.

Procedure

Synchronizing with WPB Manager
  1. In SAP Solution Manager, start the transaction solar_WBP.

  2. Select your project, and then choose Synchronize.

  3. Navigate to and select the business process steps you want to synchronize, and then confirm your selection.

    A dialog box appears.

  4. Enter your WPB Manager credentials.

  5. Open WBP Manager in your Web browser.

For each business process step you synchronized, a project is automatically generated in WPB Manager. The project is sorted into groups based on the business scenario and business process it belongs to.

    Note Note

The first time you synchronize the process steps of a business scenario, the group structure will appear under the Unsorted node of the tree structure. You have to integrate this structure manually into the object tree of your work area. This step has to be done only once on initial creation.

    End of the note.
  6. Choose the step, and then choose Finish editing to return the write token, so that the project can be edited with WPB Producer.

A dialog box appears, in which you can assign the project to a specific author, define a status, and provide instructions in the comment field.

  7. Authors create content using the WPB Producer component. For more information, see the SAP Workforce Performance Builder documentation.

  8. Once the documentation objects have been created and uploaded to the corresponding projects in WPB Manager, repeat steps 1–4 to synchronize the objects to SAP Solution Manager.

Viewing Project Content in SAP Solution Manager

After synchronization, you can start the Configuration transaction to view the project content.

  • The Project Documentation tab page has links to the documentation types specified by the CUSTDOCU parameter in the Customizing for SAP Solution Manager under   Capabilities   Implementation/Upgrade   External Integration   Workforce Performance Builder  .

  • The Training Materials tab page has links to all other project assets and playback modes.

Note Note

If you want to rename a process step, you must first change the name in Business Blueprint and then synchronize with WPB Manager as described in steps 1–4.

End of the note.
