Function documentation Synchronization Group Editor  Locate the document in its SAP Library structure

Use

With this editor, you can define groups of customizing objects (synchronization groups), which you want to adjust with the Customizing Distribution, or compare with the Customizing Scout.

Prerequisites

You have authorization for the authorization object s_cd_sync for the synchronization group editor, you need activity 3 for calling, activity 2 for changes (for the system roles 'Development/Customizing', i.e. scdtsysrol = 'c').

Features

With the editor, you can

·        create

·        edit

·        copy

·        delete and

·        transport synchronization groups.

A synchronization group can comprise the following objects:

·        Customizing objects which are predefined in the system as synchronization-relevant for a software component (Synchronization Objects)

The system contains information about which customizing objects in SAP R/3 correspond to these synchronization objects (mapping).

·        Customizing objects which you select by IMG activity

·        Customizing objects whose object name and type you enter manually

·        other synchronization groups

Caution

You can select customizing objects of type V (view), S (table with text table) T (transaction), L (logical transport object) or C (view cluster) for a synchronization group. The system resolves view clusters into individual views, and objects of type T and L into their underlying tables.

If you select customizing objects, the system checks whether these objects exist in the Implementation Guide (IMGs) of the source and target systems, and gives an overview of any objects which could not be put in a synchronization group. You can also check in advance, which customizing objects or IMG activities are suitable for Customizing Distribution. See the notes in the Restrictions section in Customizing Synchronization.

You can also specify filter conditions for your synchronization group. You specify whether table rows are only to be taken into account by the Customizing Scout or Customizing Distribution, if specified fields satisfy conditions which you define. You can also put customer tables in a synchronization group. You must either put these tables in the table SOBJ (transaction sobj), or create the customer tables as Synchronization objects with appropriate mapping.
